Abstract
My honors project first identifies the costs and benefits of social media for businesses and the potential return on investment that firms can have. This project looks at measuring the return on investment from social media, creating effective marketing campaigns, managing customer relationship management and customer satisfaction, and management’s role with marketing campaigns. The second section is putting what I have learned the past three years and while researching this project, into action. I teamed up with a local business – West Des Moines Storage – to implement social media for the company. This business was started within the last five years and does not have a website or any social media presence. My project seeks to ultimately increase their brand awareness and their sales so that they reach maximum capacity at all of their storage locations by creating and maintaining a website and Facebook page.
