Abstract
This paper investigates the relationship between doctor communication and its effect on patient satisfaction. Participants completed a survey of questions relating to their most recent visit to the doctor or healthcare professional. Questions evaluated participants’ relationships with their doctors, doctor’s manner, communication, and overall satisfaction with the doctor or healthcare professional. After analysis, all items showed a positive relationship. Results showed patients who reported better communication with their doctor were more satisfied with their care. And reported satisfaction with doctor was related to the feeling of sufficient medical care. This study demonstrates the positive effect of good communication styles on doctor-patient relationships, especially with patient satisfaction.
