Abstract
According to evidence presented by the United Nations Human Rights Council (U.N.H.R.C.) and others, the Chinese Communist Party (C.C.P.) is failing its citizens and creating a hostile environment where human rights violations have been confirmed throughout the Xinjiang region. Under these circumstances, the International Courts system is not working. Although this court system has worked in previous genocide tribunals, it has thus far failed to stop the illegal actions of the Chinese government. The International Court of Justice (I.C.J.) is mandated to seek justice for those who cannot seek justice for themselves, but it seems to be failing in this current circumstance.
In this creative component, I recommend that if the I.C.J. and the United Nations fail to act, we must change domestic policy to advocate for boycotting items from the Xinjiang region, sanctions, and other acts that both state and private actors can implement. The implications of my research have been founded on previous tribunals, countries' policy changes, and reviews from both private and public sources. These proposed policies can help remedy the failure of accountability.
