The Department of Naval Science seeks to offer students the opportunity to earn commission as officers in either the United States Navy or Marine Corps, while simultaneously providing knowledge of the structure, function, values, and principles of the Navy and Marine Corps.

History
The Department of Naval Science was formed in 1957 after the division of the Department of Military, Naval, and Air Science.
