Abstract
Standardized Woodwork is a relatively new thing; it has completely changed the woodworking industry. This industry is as old as the lumber business, which literally was the pioneer business of America. This huge change, as did many others, came during the immediate period after the World War. During the war, the government sensed the need of a competent Building Committee for the huge industrial centers at Hog Island and other places. Trowbridge and Ackerman, nationally known architects of New York, were selected. It was their duty to design and specify for the thousands of small homes to be built to house the workmen. These men brought forth numerous plans for a small, conveniently designed home.
