Abstract

A 4-month-old Santa Gertrudis bull calf was presented to the I.S.U. Teaching Hospital after being found down in a field. Clinical examination revealed a slightly elevated temperature and spasm and severe pain of the neck muscles. Laboratory results included an extremely high CPK of greater than 5000 IU/L (normal = 0-200 IU/L). Cervical radiographs were taken.
