Description
The Department of Industrial Education and Technology aimed to prepare students with strong aptitudes or interests in industrial education and related fields, or for careers in industrial technology. The program could result in a variety of education certifications (Drivers’ Safety and Education, or Industrial Vocation Certification), or alternatively could prepare students for work in industry, such as quality assurance, product process control, computer applications, occupational safety, or product systems analysis.
History
In 1971 the Department of Industrial Education broke off from the Department of Education. In 2004, the department merged with the Department of Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering.
