Abstract
After a four year hiatus, caused by the challenges of the pandemic, the ACS Division of Chemical Education held the 27th Biennial Conference on Chemical Education at Purdue University as an in-person conference. With all the complexity of the ongoing presence of SARS-CoV-2, there were many possible ways to think about and process the experiences associated with this conference. Capturing the moment and pondering its impact may allow chemistry educators to think about how scientific conferences can best meet the needs of the communities they serve, today and into the future.
