Abstract
Fines (material smaller than whole corn kernels) are troublesome and continually increase as corn lots move from harvest to utilization. This article reviews characteristics of fines in corn, including constituents, size distribution, nutritive and economic values, density, and airflow resistance, and presents analysis of them. These characteristics are related to corn grading, handling, and processing issues.
